Best Kitchen Curtains Designs In 2017

Light and Lively

Window treatments not only add softness and fashion, but also control light, protecting interior furnishings and materials from damaging UV rays. "Flat Roman fabric shades from Smith & Noble can be found using a privacy lining that offers sun protection," says Kara Roberts, Director of Merchandising to the business. Shown here is a Flat Roman Fabric Shade in Samara/Stone with privacy liner.

Pretty Pattern

At a kitchen using simple style and a mainly white colour palette, a dab of pattern may add personality. "Help framework a beautiful view with a valance mounted above the window. This ikat-patterned fabric, Bansuri at Slate, has a rich neutral that adds interest to the solid white cabinets," says the manufacturer.

Layered Effect

To make a tailored look in a simple, darkened kitchen, designer Teri Thomas chose a valance and Roman shade in the exact same fabric. She used a custom-printed cloth for the its own topper and the colour from Paul and Galbraith, '' says builder Duane Johns of Advanced Renovations.

Tailored Alternative

"When planning a kitchen layout, placing the sink under a window is a fantastic option," says designer Karen Sealy. "Having a wonderful view can make washing the dishes or prepping food much more enjoyable." Within this space she given shutters to complete the area's transitional style. "Using shutters is a low-maintenance alternate to drapery that controls light levels and perspectives," she states.

Twice as Nice

For the ultimate in versatility, consider shades that may be raised and lowered from the top or bottom as needed. "These easy and glossy shades by Kirsch can drop down from the surface or elevated up from the ground to allow you to control the opinion or the sun as needed," says the retailer.

Striped Shade

"I never met a stripe I did not enjoy," says designer Sheila Bridges, that chose Osborne & Little's Killarney, embroidered with white ovals, for the kitchen Roman shade.

French Accent

When they remodeled an old family home with French architectural details, kitchen designers Marvin Daniel and Brian Pilgrim of KDW Home desired to provide it an airy and open appearance that still felt in keeping with the style of the house. Shades in a French provincial cloth added the accent the space.

Cheery Ikat

At a Charlotte, North Carolina, house, designer Lindsey Coral Harper made a Roman colour in the same fabric as the kitchen sofa, Thom Filicia's Prospect at Shadow for Kravet, to carry the ikat pattern across the room.

Formal Effect

Designer Robin Baron gave this tasteful country kitchen that the ideal finishing touch with an ornate scalloped valance over the sink. "I always say 'great layout is in the details' and this gorgeous valance is a perfect example," says Baron. "I utilized the depth of iron pins to create the dramatic pleating in lieu of a conventional rod and embellished the classic linen floral fabric with tassel trim, and fitting tape, giving importance and weight for the country-inspired valance."

Coordinated Charm

Fabric-based window treatments are a great way to balance all the surfaces in the kitchen whilst also adding pattern and colour. This habit shade can raise and lower to privacy and control sunlight. "Whether up or down, the shade keeps the kitchen atmosphere glowing with splashes of yellow from the Thom Filicia cloth, Prospect at Shadow," says the maker. Continue the appearance with fabric in places such as lampshades (see the colors on the wall sconces), barstools, chairs as well as Fido's mattress.
